Rules of thumb

Flat colours → screen or enamel

Illustrations with up to 6 flat colours print cheaper and last longer with screen print or enamel than with digital.

Gradients and photos → digital

Sublimation and UV print reproduce gradients; screen and enamel do not.

Dishwasher → fired or sublimated

On ceramics and glass only fired decals and sublimation survive dishwashers; UV print on tumblers is hand-wash.

Shape → casting

If the product is the landmark's silhouette, it is a die-cast or resin piece with a mould cost — worth it for hero products.

Premium feel → engraving or embroidery

For hotels, wine regions and museums, engraving and embroidery read as quality.

Small text → avoid

Below 1.5 mm letters fail on most techniques; we tell you before printing.

Frequently asked questions

Can you match Pantone colours?

Screen print, enamel and spot inks yes, to tolerance. Digital techniques approximate; we show a printed sample for approval.

Which technique is most eco-friendly?

Water-based screen inks on organic cotton, laser engraving on wood and fired decals on ceramics have the lowest impact. Ask for the options in the quote.
